It is a rare family that looks forward to cleaning up and organizing their home in their free time.  But cleaning and organizing doesn’t have to be dreadful.  By adding a bit of fun to a dreary cleaning routine, you'll energize the process AND get the house spic and span in no time flat.  Try everyone working together in one room at a time.  Set an egg timer for 5-10 minutes in each room (depending on the size) and race each other to pick up and put away as much as you can.  If you work on a family room and 2 bedrooms, you can make a considerable dent your home in a mere 30 minutes.  Perhaps the winner of the cleaning spree can set the family dinner menu for a week or choose their favorite dessert to share.
Or make an upbeat “Cleaning Mix” on your iPod or MP3 player.  It’s amazing how much more fun cleaning is when your are dancing and singing to the Black Eyed Peas at the top of your lungs.  Try watching Mary Poppins for some room cleaning inspiration.

For the month of February we are going to focus on keeping your family organized.  We'll address topics from staying organized while pregnant, getting organized for baby and simple ways to teach your kids to help keep your house in order.
